Our Mission
The Reproductive Futures Lab is an interdisciplinary and internationally collaborative research initiative that brings together scholars examining the biocultural dimensions of reproductive justice, reproductive health, and reproductive possibilities.
The RFL is a space where scholars, medical practitioners, scientists, activists, and policy makers come together to listen and engage with a diversity of conversations on reproductive pasts, presents, and most importantly the future. Reproductive futures are going to be as diverse as the reproductive pasts - the team at RFL will help us make sense of it and ensure it attends to a justice based future.
We are committed to producing original, theoretically grounded, and empirically rich research and policy recommendations that explores the evolutionary and sociocultural aspects of key reproductive processes, including menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, fertility, Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ARTs), hormones, demographic shifts, non-normative reproduction, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for reproductive health.
After our launch in 2025, we aim to focus on generating high-impact, policy-relevant scholarship that bridges academic inquiry with real-world application. We prioritize translating our research into evidence-based insights that can inform clinical practice, health policy, and public discourse.
We believe that reproductive futures are as varied and complex as the pasts that precede them. Through rigorous research and transdisciplinary engagement, RFL aims to make sense of these diverse trajectories and shape them toward justice-based outcomes - both through policy recommendations and community engagements.
